Swede Ship Yachtservice AB is a shipyard that carries out repairs on commercial coastal tonnage such as pilot boats, archipelago boats, the coast guard, road ferries etc.
The engine workshop is authorized by Volvo Penta and Scania, so these are the main engine brands that we work with, but our customers also have other makes.
The work is carried out on board boats located at the shipyard or in the immediate area.
As an engine technician, you will mainly work with service, repair, assembly and renovation of engines. Other tasks that occur are: valves and pumps, shaft pulling, shaft sealing and alignment of machines.
As an engine technician at Swede Ship Yachtservice, you will be part of a group with several experienced colleagues.
We are looking for someone who has worked with machine systems and who has experience in troubleshooting mechanics, electricity and electronics. Good habit of using diagnostic tools is a requirement and preferably within the Volvo Penta or Scania world. We also see a great advantage in having experience with shaft seals, storage and propulsion on ships.
As the work is mainly carried out under time pressure and often in tight spaces, personal qualities such as cooperation, stress tolerance and accuracy are absolutely crucial. You enjoy developing new solutions based on previous experiences and you enjoy working on several projects at the same time.
Being able to work independently or in a group is essential. Requirements for spoken and written English, as well as B driver’s license.
We offer an exciting and varied job at a repair yard in a pleasant environment at Nya Varvet in Gothenburg.
We process all applications as they come in, so the position may be filled before the application deadline – so don’t wait to apply for the job!
